The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus has examined the procedure of yielding state-funded housing. The enquiry was initiated on the basis of an appeal from a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, who was stripped of his lodgings after retirement.

The Israeli government passed a law on the protection of the underaged suspects. According to the adopted law draft, the underaged are entitled to the lawyer from the moment of their detention. The lawyer is to be present at the arraignment to the underaged.

The Chinese parliament resolved to amend the country’s tax legislation. For this purpose they worked out a load of draft to come into action on January 1, 2006.

It is planned that a total ban on smoking in closed premises will be introduced in England. The only exception will be made for those clubs and pubs, where food is not served, and for private clubs.

Syrian authorities have toughened the control over entering the country. According to the official Syrian media agency, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has developed appropriate instructions for the customs police which prescribe to pay special attention to the young people aged 18 to 30 and to deny entrance to anyone who arouses suspicion.

According to the Eurostat data, Sweden is the leading spender on social transfers and pensions in the European Union. 32.5% of the country’s GNP is allocated for these needs. Second goes France with 30.6% and then Germany – 29.8%.
