In order to ameliorate the order the order of utilizing communal property, on November, 16 2006 the President of the Republic of Belarus signed an edict № 677 “On some issues of communal property utilization”.

The edict signed lays down that the alienation of buildings, constructions, isolated premises (apartments excluded) in the centre of Minsk and regional centres having the value of over 10 thousand base values is to be submitted for president’s approval. The edict defines the order of alienation of such premises.

The edict signed determines the range of relations, excluded from its effect, namely the relations on the alienation of buildings, constructions, isolated premises from communal into republic property, as well as a result of communal legal person’s liquidation following its bankruptcy.

The edict comes into force three months after its official publishing and extends to the relations on the disposition of property, originating before the edict № 677 came into power.
