Annulling a Law of 1327 | Hanna Žarabcova

On June, 21 2006 the House of Lords abolished a law of 1327 protecting two central markets of London.

The law in question was issued by King Edward III. It contained a ban on trading in foodstuffs within 10 kilometers from any of two central markets of London - Smithfield and Billingsgate.

As a result of lifting an ancient ban several claims to open restaurants in central London have already been posted.
