On July, 1 2006 an updated version of a law “On copyright” came into force in Estonia.

In accordance with the new version of the law a ban on Xeroxing music notes is introduced. Specialists say the law will strike hardest at large bands with extensive repertoire. Grand orchestras and choirs will ask for state compensation in order to buy additional copies of music notes.
