One more edict devolves on the president the power, which, according to the current legislation, is within the competence of other state institutions. 

Additional authority in the budget, fiscal and monetary spheres is assigned to the President of the Republic of Belarus.

The changes were introduced by the presidential edict "On improving legal regulation on some economical relations" of November, 3 2005.

A range of issues is laid down, attributed to the sole competence of the president. These are providing whatever state assistance to juridical persons and private proprietors, granting various kinds of preferences and adopting state environmental programs.

The edict comes into power 10 days after its official publication, but the system behind the edict will be fully brought into effect from June, 1 2006.
