Changes to the orphanage statute | Hanna Žarabcova

The regulation of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus №1059 of September 23, 2005 introduced additions to the General Statute of specialized institutions for infants in need of social care and rehabilitation.

The regulation lays down that the specialized institutions, in accordance with their statutes, provide temporary (up to six month) shelter and board to the victims of human traffic aged 3 to 15.

Furthermore, those divested of parental rights and legally deprived of children are to cover all the state maintenance costs.

In case of infant victims of human trafficking placed in social shelters the costs are to be covered by those guilty of the human trafficking crime.
